“Don’t eat anything your great-grandmother wouldn’t recognize as food.”
– Michael Pollan
Fostering diversity in the diet, through access to an ever-wider number of plant foods, is a core mission of ours. We want everyone to have access to a nutritious and delicious rainbow of local food. We grow approximately a dedicated acre to beyond organic annual and, more importantly, perennial vegetables. Additionally, we grow food in the inherited ornamental landscape (we now refer to these areas as foodscape and food hedges), trellised along fence lines, framing pathways, or as understory to larger trees. One goal is to grow edibles within arms reach everywhere but the untouched, wild portions of the farm.
