Farming Ecologically Coloring Book! Combines grass-farm accuracy with captivating images guaranteed to stimulate countless adult-child conversations. Each picture, captioned for info-density! Finally, we have a unique child-friendly medium to convey the great grass farming and ecology principles practiced every day at Polyface Farm. This wonderful collection of images brings everyday life on a grass farm into vivid detail. Too many children’s farming books are stereotypical, with silos, red barns, and grain-fed cattle. The gold in this book lies in the adult-child interaction that will inevitably follow the pictures and captions. Without being tedious, this fun coloring book conveys key principles that make us one of the most unique farms in the world. Everyone with a little person in their life should get one to start meaningful conversations early, and generate a new generation of caring, tuned-in, with-it earth and food stewards.

Nature Crafting

Tools of Engagement

In all honestly, you already have the “tools” because children come with a built-in toolkit; they are naturally curious and have an innate desire to learn through first-hand experience about the world around them.

Below we’ve culled together many of the tools we’ve found most useful. Take ’em or leave ’em, do what works best for your situation!

With an entire universe of small stuff all around us, for over 400 years the microscope has been a wonderful tool for investigation and exploration. The Pocket Microscope is a powerful 60-120x magnification microscope with an extremely lightweight and portable design. It features a built-in LED light that provides a bright, clear image and a rubberized eyepiece for comfortable viewing. Fits easily in your pocket to bring with you anywhere. A microscope can be a pretty handy device for nature exploration, science education, and tinkering.
