Bone Broth Basics

There are so many health benefits to bone broth! In healthy, traditional cultures, when an animal was slaughtered, all the parts were put to use, including the bones, to make mineral-rich broth. Our modern diet, having largely forgotten the use of broth as the basis of our cooking, is estimated to have less than half the mineral content of more traditional diets. This rich mineral content and the fact that soup broths greatly aid digestion are just two of the many reasons why everyone should make soup broth a part of their daily diet. In this class, we will learn about these benefits and how to extract the goodness into broth. We will taste a few difference kinds of bone broth in different stages, and you will go home with some handouts and recipes.

Full Moon Fire Circles

Join an ongoing circle or create an occasion to honor and celebrate life’s passages, and the journey toward well-being. For centuries, women have gathered in alignment with the moon phases to reflect, share and inspire one another. Women and teen girls are welcomed to a beautiful evening fire circle full of wisdom and togetherness, with Full Moon, Stars, Sky, Trees, Earth, and sweet sounds of Frog, Cricket and hootin’ Owl. From a nurturing place of safety and warmth, we can share, learn, give, receive, open, renew and grow. Dress in WARM LAYERS and bring a flashlight–it gets cold and dark at the farm. We’ll be outdoors around a fire, except if there’s a “no burn warning”, raining or extremely cold then we will move the event indoors. Event is from 7pm-9:30pm. We won’t have a potluck dinner but we provide some tea and snacks at the end. Optionally, you can choose to bring biodegradable offerings for the fire, a snack and/or beverage to share, a song or two, some instruments or whatever you’d like to share.
